Say What??

Pancho tends to say things at appropriate times. Sometimes his comments can be downright hilarious. One night I was trying to decide what to make for dinner and didn't realize that Pancho was listening. "I think I'll roast a chicken," I told my husband. Before he could respond, Pancho, in a loud, tragic voice, cried, "Oh, no!" Poor Pancho! I can only imagine the trauma he must have felt. I've been careful since then not to discuss my dinner preparations in front of him, especially when they include poultry! The day after Laura got married, the air in our home was decidedly somber. My baby was all grown up and moved away! Pancho picked up on the fact that something was very much different. He turned his head sideways, looked up at me, and in a sad little voice, asked, "Laura?" "Laura's not here," I explained. "She'll be back to visit, but she doesn't live with us any more." Again, Pancho said, "Laura?" He was crushed! I spent all morning trying to cheer him up, but he continued asking for Laura. He knew something wasn't right in his world! These are only a few of the "talking" stories I've gathered over my many years of living with birds. I wanted to share a few of them with you in the hopes that some of you will share a story or two with me! If your bird has said something cute or interesting, feel free to post it in the discussion area.
