Getting Your Comic Into Newspapers

So, you're a cartoonist and want to get into the newspaper. Where should you send your portfolio, and what should you send?

Send 15-25 strips, a biography of you and a summary of your vision for the cartoon to all of the following major comic strip syndicates.

  • Creators Syndicate
    Offers Submission Guidelines.
  • King Features Syndicate
    Offers Submission Guidelines.
  • Tribune Media Syndicate
    Tribune's Syndication Information gives helpful information and tips.  See also Submission Guidelines.
  • United Media: The Comic Strip
    Offers Submission Guidelines.   
  • Universal Press Syndicate
    Offers Submission Guidelines
  • Washington Post Writers Group.  
    Has several comic strips and a history of selecting good ones, like Bloom County and Non Sequitur.  See Submission Guidelines.
