Creators Syndicate Launches First Class Web Site

Creators Syndicate has lauched an absolutely first class web site. I gave it a rigorous testing looking for omissions, but found everything I wanted in both content and design. The following report card goes into greater depth.

CONTENT
The site features 14 comic strips (including B.C., Liberty Meadows, and the Wizard of Id) plus three editorial cartoons. It appears that the cartoons run with a one-week delay from newspaper publication, and that the archives contain two weeks worth of strips.

Another nice element to the site is that Creators provides fun and informative overviews of each cartoonist, as well as of each strip and its characters.

DESIGN
The pages are professionally designed and short enough to keep download times within reason. Furthermore, the navigation aids are intuitive and allow you to go anywhere on the site that you wish without scrolling through too many pages. Of particular note, you may jump to any cartoon instantly from a drop down menu. In fact, I rank Creators' site as the best syndicate site for its ease of use and attractiveness.

Overall, the content, the look and the feel are inviting, so Creators.com should be a popular destination for those who are looking for their daily cartoon fix.

The one downside to this (and all other syndicate web sites) is that visitors are not able to create custom comics pages which display, for example, their favorite five cartoons on a single page.

Next week I will review the Creators strip THATCH. This strip has improved dramatically over the last six months, and I predict big things for it.
