There is a lot of mediocre material on the Internet, and comic strip Web sites are no different. The following is the first installment of cartoons with the best Web sites or which are funniest. I have also narrowed it down to just the professionally syndicated cartoons (although there are some very good aspiring cartoonists which I often enjoy more).

Arlo & Janis by Jimmy Johnson. Newspaper Enterprise Association, Inc.
Betty by Gary Delainey and Gerry Rasmussen. Newspaper Enterprise Association, Inc.
Bizarro by Dan Piraro. Universal Press Syndicate. Second Bizarro site.
Buckets, The by Scott Stantis. Hosted by United Feature Syndicate, Inc.
Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson. Universal Press Syndicate.
Cathy by Cathy Guisewite. Universal Press Syndicate.
CHAOS by Brian Shuster. King Features Syndicate.
Citizen Dog by Mark O'Hare. Universal Press Syndicate.
Dilbert Zone by Scott Adams. United Feature Syndicate.
Doctor Fun by David Farley.
Doonesbury Town Hall by Garry Trudeau. Universal Press Syndicate.
Doonesbury by Garry Trudeau. Universal Press Syndicate.
