Strip Search by Universal Press Syndicate

Have you ever though that you've got what it takes to be a cartoonist? Well, here's your chance. One of the best syndicates is running a talent search. Check out the full details here or read the excerpt below.... and good luck.

Now is your chance to get your cartoon art published and maybe win some cash to boot! Andrews McMeel Universal and Follett College Stores are running the Strip Search contest to find America's next great cartoon talent.

There will be one grand prize winner and winners in each of three categories: Comic Strip, Comic Panel, and Other. Many of the best submissions will be published in a Strip Search book collection coming out in April 1999 in which all winners will be specially recognized. The grand prize winner will win $2,000 and enjoy a publication party at the nearest Follett College Store.

Put together at least six of your best efforts at a comic strip, panel, or other, following the contest rules and guidelines, fill out the attached entry form, and submit your entry by October 31, 1998. Judges will be editors from Universal Press Syndicate who work with cartoon legends Cathy Guisewite ("Cathy"), Garry Trudeau ("Doonesbury"), Jim Davis ("Garfield"), Tom Wilson ("Ziggy"), Bill Amend ("FoxTrot"), and many more.

Your doodles could be diamonds in the rough--don't miss this opportunity to find out!
