Initially, Layton felt that they did not get the deal they wanted, so they were going direct. Just a few months ago, Layton reached an agreement with an unnamed executive in Diamond Distributors for Diamond to carry Future comics to retailers. Layton was insistent that the only reason that they did not get an agreement earlier was that they simply could not get the deal they wanted. The deal includes Future free shipping a returnable comics policies. For all retailers Future comics are returnable if they are still on the shelves after 90 days. Future also sells to the public directly from the website at http://www.futurecomicsonline.com ======================== Here is another interesting tidbit from the Wizard comic panel. They are willing to take folks as internists. All you have to do is to send Wizard a cover letter and a resume and be willing to relocate to the Chicago area. Another rumor from Wizard is the Michael Turner will be doing some artwork for two stories on the same characters. One written by Loebs and one by Johns, and readers will vote on which they like the best. It looks like the JLA/Avengers Crossover will be out the fourth quarter of 2003. (Reported last week George Perez is finishing up the fourth and final issue of the miniseries). Here are a few highlights: The Justice League of America story line will lead up to printing two issues monthly over the summer months. "Beware the Creeper" will be a five-issue mini-series with a female Creeper character starting Spring 2003. Legendary artist Joe Kubert will be doing some Sgt Rock stories this summer. DC confirmed that there will be a "Thundercats/Battle of the Planets" DC one-shot to be followed by the Top Cow "Thundercats/Battle of the Planets" one-shot for the conclusion of the story (that's two companies, two one-shots, and two sets of 1980's retro characters if you are keeping score.) DC announced that in the Wildstorm title "Gen 13" the character Fairchild would be getting married. Also Joe Casey
