More Online Comics, Geroge Perez Update, MegaCon is Coming!Happy Valentine's Day If you wanted to be first to see the Daredevil movie, it may already too late. My sources tell me that in some cities the Daredevil movie was showing at 12:01 AM. Not to worry, looks like the film will be out for a number of weeks. I just checked out the Dark Horse web page at http://www.darkhorse.com/ . Looks like it has been updated with Star Wars message boards, a Spy Boy screensaver and plenty of comic related products for sale. Dark Horse does have a few comics online, but you have to use Quicktime to view them and they are slow loading. I suggest a fast internet connection if you want to spend any time on these previews. If you are a real Star Wars aficionado, there is a Star Wars Time Line at http://www.darkhorse.com/products/zones/... . Dark Horse does not sell comics direct to the public, but sell through online retailer Things From Another World, (or TFAW) at http://www.tfaw.com . TFAW has lots of pre-orders as well as new releases for sale. ============================= Speaking of online comic previews, even Image comics have gotten in on the act. Check it out at http://www.imagecomics.com/ . The Tech Jacket online comic is worth a look. It's kind of a sophomoric plot, but the characterization is pretty good. This comic is definitely worth a look online. I was also intrigued by Jack Flagg. The story was interesting, but had too many sub-plots introduced all at once. I liked the artwork. And Super Patriot is back? Great name for a character in 2003, but this character is a retreat of the bad old early 1990's where he was part of Freak Force. This was the time when Image was publishing Stormwatch, Wildcats, and other goofy-but-ultra-violent super heroes. Except for the women heroes, they were buxom and scantily clad. Professional art and coloring, as always from this type of comic - but it begs the question - is this comic necessary anymore? With dialogue like "..we will suffer this indignity no longer, we must have our revenge..." Oh, I see it was written by Eric Larsen. I guess if you like Savage Dragon, you might give it a look, otherwise just read it online. Of course, that's just my opinion. ============================= Now for some big news in comics. Sorry I missed this but Gemstone publishing announced on December 11, 2002 that they will be bringing back Disney comic. The revived comic titles include Uncle Scrooge Adventures, Donald Duck Adventures, and Walt Disney comics and stories. This is excellent news, especially for our European readers, as many from Europe are fanatical fans of Disney comics in general, and Duck comics in particular.
