Anyone getting tired of television shows and movies based on comic book characters? I hope not, because look out for the year 2003, where you will be inundated with movies and television shows based on comic books.

================================

Here's the news on the television front:

Comics Continuum at http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0... reports that the season finale of the "Birds of Prey" television series will air on February 19th. The Finale will be two episodes, the first episode at 8 PM is called "Feat of Clay" and at 9 PM the final episode is called "Devil's Eyes.

The story involves the son of the original "Clayface" character turning Gotham's citizens into clay.

On Tuesday, February 25th the episode of Smallville will guest-starring Christopher Reeve. The episode is called "Rosetta" and will involve Clark traveling to New York to meet Dr Swann (Reeve), a scientist who has a message for Clark from his home world.

Here's some news from the movies:

As you know, the Daredevil movie is slated for release on Friday, February 14th. You can check out the trailer at http://movies.go.com/trailers/index.html. I have to say that initially the story look s good, to include a grown Matt Murdock in his law firm, with Bullseye and the Kingpin as antagonists and Electra as his love interest and possible antagonist.

The X-Men 2 movie is slated for some time in May. I have not heard when the release date will be.

The Hulk movie is set to come out June 20th. Remember this Hulk will be computerized. You can take a look at the trailers at the movie site above or at the official hulk website at http://www.thehulk.com/

Both Hulk and Daredevil had commercials air during the Super-bowl on January 26, 2003.

DC is lagging behind, but is in the process of coming up with a new Batman movie. Warner Brothers will produce the movie and they have recently named Chris Nolan as the director. Nolan's film credits include Memento and Insomnia. Anyone hear of these movies? Anyone? Me neither.

It is no surprise that Warner Brothers will be doing the movie, as DC Comics is a subsidiary of Warner Brothers. That means there are no rights fees to pay. (Or, you only pay rights fees to yourself - a clever account trick provided you could do it legally.).

======================================

On the animated front, an animated Spider-Man television series is slated for MTV television possibly in March or April and look for that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle animated television show next month as previously reported here.
