Last week I reported on Future Comics and their new project. Here are tidbits of news for comics online that you can read, purchase and one site with coloring pages and Thanksgiving cards. Check it out below.

I begin on a sad note, as Chaos comics has gone out of business. I am not a big follower of Chaos comics, so I have not checked in on them in a long time. Here's the latest news.

CHAOS! COMICS DECLARES CHAPTER 7 BANKRUPTCY Scottsdale, Arizona. After nine years of comics publishing and over 300 comic published, Chaos! Comics, Inc. a top ten comic book publisher has filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. As of August 15, 2002, all operations ceased. Additionally, our annual fan festival, Fiend Fest, which was to be held on October 25-27, 2002 is cancelled."

When asked why Chaos! Comics went out of business,Chaos! founder Brian Pulido said, "Unfortunately, it's a combination of factors, but it's mostly due to the steady decline in our comic book sales over the last few years which accelerated after November 2001. As we looked out into the future, we felt this was the most responsible action to take for everyone involved."

"I deeply appreciate the support of the entire community who supported Chaos! Comics through good times and bad. That includes our artists, printers, distributors, retailers and suppliers and especially our fans. To me, it is the fans who made Chaos! a success and who made this experience so rewarding. I will miss that the most."

For those of you missing your adult comic book fix, check out a cool small press website by American Mule at http://www.americanmule.com/ The newest comic is called Retributors: Blood and Guts. The first two issues are available through your local comic shops. This comic is aimed for mature audiences, so if you are squeamish this is not for you. You can check out more sex and violence online.

Another site for the older kids is Antarctic Press. In addition to the ususal Warrior Nun and Ninja High school comics, Antarctic Press has added video animation to the items they sell direct to the public.
