Batman #608 sells out! This is the hottest comic book for the month of October. With writer Jeph Loeb, and artists Jim Lee and Scott Williams. This creative team is signed on for twelve issues of Batman.
Jim Lee is glad that Batman is at the top of the charts, and thinks that this is where he should be. DC's VP of Sales and Marketing Bob Wayne says that he is monitoring retailer feedback closely with an eye toward going back to the press, and that he talks to retailers every day. "Every time we showed more parts of this issue in the press, at conventions or anywhere else, retailer interest has soared," said Vince Letterio, DC's Manager - Direct Sales. "When the Sneak Peek copies reached stores last Wednesday, reorder activity increased dramatically. For the past few days, we've been taking reorders with both hands - and we're ready to take more on subsequent issues." ================================= It is reported that Colossus will appear in the second X-Men movie due out next year. Production designer Guy Dyas is looking at ways to make his metal skin more believable. The movie idea is that the skin will turn transparent to reveal metalized muscle beneath. Here's a promotional picture form the movie. Looks pretty good, in my opinion. It is also reported that James Marsden, who returns as Cyclops in X-Men 2 returns with a new visor. Check it out in this picture. It is reported that Nightcrawler will also be in X-Men 2. The comic book movie adaptation will be in stores in January. So if you want the story ahead of time, look for it then. If you don't want the story in advance, be sure not to pick this one up. ===================================- News from DC Comics is that Judd Winick will be taking over writing chores for Green Arrow after a long stint on Green Lantern. DC signed Winick to a one year contract on Green Arrow, one which also allows him to continue his "Adventures of Barry Ween, Boy Genius" for Oni Press. Artists Phil Hessler and Andy parks remain unchanged on the Green Arrow comic. =================================== There is a royalties battle over the Disney owned character "Winnie The Pooh". It seems that Disney does not own this character outright. Stephen Slesinger Inc., owns a portion of the rights to the honey-loving character. The case has been sent to a second independent accounting team, ordered by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ernest Hiroshige on Friday, October 19, 2002. Go To Page: 1 2
