New comic projects to be debuted on tour

Every single creator under the publishing umbrella of Alternative Comics will be on tour this Summer. Ed Brubaker, Tom Hart, Sam Henderson, James Kochalka, Dave Lasky, Jon Lewis, Jeff Mason, Jen Sorensen, Greg Stump, Chris Waldron, and Steve Weissman will be getting out of their studios and hitting the road for the Summer Alternative Comics Tour. A number of projects have been timed so that they will be debuted on this tour.

August 13-16 is Comic-Con International in San Diego, California. Comic-Con International features what is arguably the largest gathering of independent creators, artist, writers, publishers and self-publishers in the comic book industry. Spread across the exhibition floor, these publishers represent the diversity and innovation which gives the comic industry much of its life. Alternative Comics, setting up at Booth #207 at the exhibition hall will thrill visitors with artists and new products. Attendees at Comic-Con International can meet Harvey Award winning Steve Weissman debuting the second issue of his critically acclaimed Yikes series plus announcing new projects from Alternative Comics. Sam Henderson will also be showing off the second issue of his series, Magic Whistle. Ed Brubaker will be promoting the Fall release of his next issue of Detour while talking to fans about his numerous DC/Vertigo projects. Dave Lasky will be hyping the October release of his new Urban Hipster collaboration with Greg Stump. James Kochalka will be debuting not one, not two, but three new graphic novels at San Diego, including Quit Your Job from Alternative Comics and will be discussing his Triple Dare collaboration with Jon Lewis and Tom Hart. Alternative Comics Publisher and indie Magazine Editor Jeff Mason will also be on hand to greet fans.

The 12th annual Dragon*Con will be held September 3-6, 1998 in Atlanta, Georgia. Dragon*Con is America's largest annual convention for fans of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror, Comics and Art, Games and Computers, Animation, Science, Music, Television and Films. Dragon*Con attendees will find Jen Sorensen promoting the Fall release of her new Slowpoke series for Alternative Comics. Jon Lewis and Tom Hart will be on the scene to promote their collaborative Triple Dare series along with their individual projects (Shell Men for Jon Lewis and The Sands for Tom Hart). Readers of indy Magazine, the guide to alternative comics, will be able to meet editors Jeff Mason and Chris Waldron.
