Kevin Smith at MegaCon 2002Kevin Smith was introduced by Jim McLauchlin of Wizard magazine. Kevin said that instead of talking about what he was interested in, but instead would take questions for two hours and talk about "what you want to talk about". Before Kevin started taking questions, he brought everyone up to date on what he was working on. His latest project is "Spider-Man/Black Cat - The Evil That Men Do". The original title was "Spider-Man - The Evil That Men Do" but said he got an email from a fan who got upset about the Black Cat was being left out. Kevin was not sure if this was going to be a four part series or a six part series. "It ends when it ends". Kevin said that the Green Arrow "Quiver" story line was originally going to be a 12-part story line. It ended up being a 10-part story. Barry Dotson is the artist on Spider-Man /Black Cat comic book miniseries. From here on I'll try to report what Kevin said from his point of view. Audience Question - "What's going on with (the movie) "Jersey Girl"? Kevin - We start shooting in July. We may shoot in Canada. I've signed up Ben Affleck, and George Carlin. It was kind of weird to have George Carlin in your house. It was like "I say you on HBO". Audience Question - Have we seen the last of Jason? Kevin - Yes. Audience Question - What are you going to do after "Jersey Girl"? Kevin - We'll start ("Flesh One?") after "Jersey Girl. I will start adapting rather than writing. Audience Question - What's new with "Clerks"? Kevin - There will be an animated (TV show) for "Clerks" We start writing that script this month. It will be about one to one and a half years until it's done. It will be about Dante and Randy making a movie. Audience Question - What happened to that "Superman" movie you were writing a few years ago? Kevin - Mick G. is making a "Superman" movie. I liked his "Charlie Angels" (audience heckles) What? There were words? It looked like "Danger Girl" to some degree. Expect it (the Superman movie) to come out on time. So no, you are never going to see mine. That was 1997. It was along time ago, so I can't get too upset. Audience Question - What did you think of the Bruce Campbell' movies? Kevin - I like evil dead movies, but what was it about? I am sure lots of people go to Bruce's website and say you have to work with (the website, but I don't have the patience for that).
