MegaCon Related News
I will continue my personal MegaCon reports in two weeks. In the meantime, here's Derec Aucoin's picture with Phil Hester eating I was unable to fit on last week's story. ================================= Here is some MegaCon news I did not get to hear personally. Kevin Smith's Brave & Bold will be delayed for a while. Smith's Black Canary will be solicited sometime early this summer. In Kevin Smith news I did hear, Kevin is currently writing "Spider-Man/Black Cat: The Evil That Men Do" as a miniseries. Kevin is also continuing to write "Green Arrow" through issue 16. Kevin does not yet know if this will be a four part or a six part miniseries. Kevin joked that the way things go for him it would probably end up being five series. ======================================= Here's some Brian Michael Bendis MegaCon news that I did not get to hear. Brian is the writer on Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Team-Up, and Daredevil for Marvel. Bendis gave some hints this past weekend on upcoming events in Daredevil. The biggest change in Matt Murdock's life will come shortly - right up there with Aunt May finding out Peter is Spider-Man. More news I did not hear - Brian will end his run on "Ultimate Marvel Team-Up' with issue 16. Issue 16 will be the last issue of the series, as Brian had pitched this books a finite series. There are no plans to continue after issue 16. On some Brian news I did get to hear - Brian plans to keep "Ultimate Spider-man" in high school a long time. Make that for a very long time. Brain said he has so many high school stories, something about high school being a difficult experience for him personally. ======================================= News from MegaCon has it that Frank Cho's Liberty Meadows will be moving to the Image imprint starting issue 27. Thanks to http://www.coliseumofcomics.com/homepage... for this news, and the other MegaCon news above. ========================================= In more breaking news from MegaCon, writer Tony Bedard, current CrossGen writer on Mystic and Negation has started writing a new comic. The title is "Route 666" to be published starting in June 2002. The title is set to be cast in a world similar to the United Stateds in the 1950's. The title has no religious connotations, instead it is meant to convey the 1950's feel with the horror aspect of this story. I have more info on the main character of this comic and what she is about, but you will have to wait on my CrossGen writer's panel discussion for that one.
