MegaCon starts today. MegaCon is held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. MegaCon will be open Friday (Today!) at 1:00 PM. This years special guest will be Kevin Smith, writer of Green Arrow comic book and writer/director of the movie "Jay and Silent Bob.
This is not just a comic book convention anymore! The focus is definitely "multimedia", as media guest include June Lockhart (Lost in Space, Lassie), Mark Goddard and Mart Kristin (Lost in Space) David Prowse and Kenny Baker (Star Wars), Jason Carter (Babylon 5), and Virginia Hey (Farscape). Notable comic book creators include Golden Age artist Martin Nodell and Harry Lampart. Silver age notables include Carmine Infantino, Dick Giordano, John Romita, and George Tuska. Popular current artists Brian Michael Bendis, Phil Hester, George Perez and Sergio Aragones. Actor is definitely a worthwhile cause for the support of retired comic book writers and artists. =================== This rumor is from Coliseum of Comics at http://www.coliseumofcomics.com/ KAMANDI? Rumor has it that Wildstorm may have taken over the 4th World universe and will be publishing the "Kirby's 4th World" line 'soon'. Erik Larsen was asked to write Kamandi but those talks may have already broken down. ============== DC GOES BACK TO PRESS: SEPTEMBER 11 VOLUMES 1 AND 2 Less than a month after reaching stores, SEPTEMBER 11 Volumes 1 and 2 have gone back to press for a second printing. The new printings have an in store date of February 13. The new version of the site went live last Thursday, January 31. "We're very excited about the fresh look we've created," says Richard Bruning, DC's VP - Creative Director. "The site now has a new, cleaner structure that provides greater ease of use, more visual cues to features, and a crisp, modern look.
