BOB HARRAS JOINS WILDSTORM PRODUCTIONS AS CONTRIBUTING EDITOR

DC Comics, November 15, 2001

DC Comics is pleased to announce that Bob Harras has joined WildStorm as Contributing Editor.

Working from his New Jersey home office, Bob will report to Jim Lee, WildStorm's Editorial Director. Bob already has begun to develop several projects based in the WildStorm Universe, including the relaunch of GEN13, written by Chris Claremont, and a new project written by Jimmy Palmiotti.

"I'm really excited about working with Jim again," says Bob. "We have a great rapport and similar visions about comic books. I'm looking forward to putting out some good, fun comics with characters that people really care about."

Bob Harras first entered the comics industry in 1982 as an assistant editor at Marvel Comics, where he trained under Ralph Macchio. After being named editor in 1985, he established strong working relationships with such acclaimed creators as John Byrne, Chris Claremont, Alan Davis, Peter David, Klaus Janson, Adam Kubert, Andy Kubert, Jim Lee, Stan Lee, Rob Liefeld, Scott Lobdell, Whilce Portacio, Marc Silvestri, and many others. Among his successes at Marvel were such titles as X-Men #1, the "Age of Apocalypse" storyline, the start of Peter David's run on The Hulk, and the introductions of characters such as Gambit and Cable. His impressive track record led to his being named Marvel's Editor-in-Chief in 1995.

"I've known and worked with Bob for almost my entire career, and I'm thrilled to work with him again," says Jim Lee, WildStorm's Editorial Director. "When he was line-editing at Marvel, I thought he was among the best in the business. He's phenomenal in terms of nurturing talent and keeping the creative process moving."

As for Bob's contribution to WildStorm, Jim adds, "It's good every now and then to have someone come in with an outside point of view and shake things up a little bit. I think it's exciting for everyone, especially the readers."
