Bill Tucci is the creator of "Shi" comics and publisher of "Crusade" comics. Bill is 24 years old, and he created the Shi character in about 1988, and the originally it was a male character, but became a female character because he thought he it would have more depth as a female character. Bill thought people felt for the character, so each book had to be better than the last. Bill says he now cannot Draw every book anymore. He has only drawn four books in the last year and a half.

Bill said he signed a movie deal, is writing it now, is going to produce it and do the art direction. You will be seeing the poster for the movie in our books in May (1998) and we are going to start shooting the end of summer. Tom Berringer is going to play the main cop, Joe. Stephen Baldwin is going to play Rick, he is going to be combined with the (Ho gee) character. Karrie Tacada is going to play (Har a she), and (Tia Cararia) is going to play Shi. The movie is going to open up with the fight scene on the rooftop like from Shi issue number two. There is no real bad guy and no real good guy, it's more that everyone is a victim of fate. Bill says that he will hold all the merchandising rights for the movie. And he will split the rights up, so one Production Company will not have all the rights. And that Oliver Stone will be executive producing the movie.

Bill said I had a definite vision of what he wanted to do with the comic book many years ago, and wouldn't sell the characters and ideas to anyone. Bill says he feels the same way about the movie. The director has not been chosen. Bill says he would lean to a young director so they would listen to him.

In addition Bill brought large poster size cards, and explained his concept of a "Battlebook". Bill explained that battlebook, where each person would play a character in a comic book, and would go through a battle sequence to determine the winner. This requires strategy, knowledge of the character you are playing, and knowledge of the other character. Bill says he has contracts with Marvel Comics, as he sold the board on his idea. Comic book sales are down 75% from two years ago, so the big companies are looking for other products to sell.
