Did you get a copy of "Origins" #1 from Marvel. Neither did I. Comic Shop News reports that the book which sold out upon release. The book on the background of Wolverine sold out in hours. It is currently selling for over $20 on ebay. . If you really want a "reading" copy of this comic, I suggest you pass on dealers' high prices. Comic Shop News reports that Marvel has agreed to print a collected reprint of issues #1 through #3. (This is what they did with Ultimate Spider-Man!)

What is the second hottest comic on the market? Would you believe "Sojorn #1" by CrossGen? Well, maybe it's not THE hottest comic, but is sold out quickly despite and overprinting. I have not seen this book, but word is that this is an excellent "jumping on" point for those interested in the CrossGen Universe. Sojourn is a grand fantasy series. The tie-in to the CrossGen universe seems less significant than other books. Marz says "I try to write all my books so they can be read independently from other CrossGen titles. In fact, that's the mantra around here: each title has to stand on it's own, but should also drop hints about the larger overall framework of our universe. So yes, Sojourn stands on its own, but it also has elements that would recognize the CrossGen Universe as a whole. Mordath (the villain) is marked with a sigil that gives him power and apparently had something to do with his resurrection. We'll see some other links here and there, but at no time will they interfere with the story we're telling in Sojourn, they'll only add to it." Ron goes on to add that Arwyn's quest is to unite the Five Fragments of the arrow that slew Mordath three centuries ago. The first story arc will go through issue #6 with a bit of an epilogue in issue #7. The second story arc will start in issue #8.

Marvel was on hand hosing a hastily put together retailer's convention on October 1 in New York. Quesada and Jemas were on hand to answer questions. An excellent article on this meeting is on the web at Jonah's Comic Book Resources at http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/n... by Kelly Sue DeConnick
