At comic book shops this week, Marvel says that their X-Men 2001 annual will appear in wide screen version called "Marvelscope”. What's up with that? The pictures will be sideways! The book will be stapled at the top instead of along the spine. Here's it looks like...
This book reminds me of the old John Byrne Fantastic Four book, where all the pictures were horizontal. Here it is - Issue #252. Which proves this week's gimmick is a variation on a past gimmick. ============================================= At the Wizard World Chicago comic book and media convention, (starting today!) CrossGen has sent out their signing times for their artists. So yes, you can get Mark Waid to sign your Flash comics and Ron Marz to sign Silver Surfer and Green Lantern comics. My experience with is these gentlemen and the whole CrossGen crew is very friendly and happy to help out. CrossGen will have creators appearing at their booth all day, every day of the three-day event. Cross Gen says they want you to bring your CrossGen books to the booth! I can't blame them there. They also say they artists will "maybe" be doing sketches. Creators will not charge for an autograph or a sketch. Please be aware that if the lines get too long, CrossGen says they may be "capped". Apparently they ran into this problem in San Diego. I had no problem in Orlando. In my experience only George Perez had a long line. In Chicago, look for look for Perez to have a line, and for Sears to have a line due to his work on X-Men. Waid on Marz, while popular, sign so quickly that it is usually not a problem. Arrive early in the day for the shortest lines! Feller, CrossGen's Director of Corporate Communications. "We realize that the fans are who we work for and we want to make sure that when they come to the CrossGen booth they leave happy. I don't think there's another publisher that has continuous signings by this many creators each and every day. And unlike some of the others, with CrossGen, you know that your favorite creator is going to be there when he's scheduled." Go To Page: 1 2
