Lost in Space - Jonathan Harris at Megacon 1998 VI© Robert Smithers And if you have a boss like Irwin Allen, who's watching the clock every minute, and will tell anybody, especially me - he took joy in telling me - "I am the magic scissors in the sky!" [Audience Laugh] Scared me I can tell you that! But that's what he always said. I was the only one allowed to see [film] of yesterday's work. And I enjoyed seeing yesterday's work, because you could see what you did yesterday. And it was very good lesson. Umm. Never do that Umm. You've got to train yourself. Not to look at makeup, not to look at the lights, but to look at the performance. And about 75% of the time I was marvelous at it. And about 25% of the time I was checking the makeup and the lights. But 75% is not bad. And everytime I showed up he [Irwin Allen] said "You're here?" Even though he had invited me, given me carte blanche. Sat, always in the back. And when the dailies were finished, never say a WORD! And on the way out, I would always let him exit first. Protocol. And he would just look at me and say "I'm the magic scissors in the sky!" [Audience laugh]
Remarkable story. Someone should write a book with great stories like this! Please read on! Press the "Next article" link to continue. Robert
