Jonathan Harris...

At one of the events I hosted for New Line [Cinema] they said, "Would you like to see some trailers and clips?" of the new Lost in Space movie.

I said, "No, no." They were surprised. I said, "I don't like to see clips. I will wait and see the movie."

And one of them said "Would you like to attend the premiere?" I said, "Of course. For $25,000 will you get a photo opp[ortunity] for me!" How dare they get so familiar! No, I'm not going to attend there [the premiere] . I will go see the movie. Ah...curiosity, even morbid curiosity, shall we say? It's [Lost in Space] very close to me, so you see. It's very close to me. And I will go and I will try to force the issue of being objective. I don't know whether I can be. Frankly, I don't think I can be. I'm too close to it still. I hear too many wonderful things about ME in it...from you dear people. How can I be objective?

I'm sure Gary Oldman [the actor who plays Dr. Smith in the new movie] does a wonderful job. Is he doing what I did? The FUN of the series ain't going to be in this movie. It's a very serious movie, I hear. You, know...come on. They fought over the type of it. They don't know that I've read the script...the shooting script. It's terrible. It's deadly serious. It's about a dysfunctional family...and why they've done that I don't know. The writer Shelia Goldsman has given a statement to that effect. Of course, they didn't do a series, they did a serious epic!

Oh yeah? There's an old showbiz adage "Don't tamper with success, you'll die." A point we've proven a thousand times.

So we shall see. They spent $75 million dollars. I wish them well. I do. I think every hit is good for the industry, therefore it is very good for all of us. So that is what I know about the movie. Nothing....

...I've seen a big poster. Very interesting poster, with this very menacing, huge robot who looks very militaristic and menacing. Not MY cuddly little robot I can tell you. [Audience laugh] He gets surrounded by these people dressed in black - looking glum and deadly serious. Oh! I might have to cry during the movie.
