Lost In Space at MegaCon 2001 - Day 1

Many of these comments there were audience questions, but I did not write fast enough to catch the question. The discussion was quickly changed subjects due to audience questions and guest comments. Instead of trying to record every word, I tried to hit only the more important discussion points.

All of the pictures are from March 4th. From Left to right is Bob May, Mark Goddard, June Lockhart, Bill Mumy, Angela Cartwright, Marta Kristen, and Jonathan Harris. I broke one photograph up into three due to the limitations of Suite 101 storage space. If I get them on a picture page, I'll post the URL in a discussion. Mark is not shown in top series of pictures.

Day 1 - March 3

Angela - I went to Salzburg to revisit "Sound of Music" locations. (They made) a documentary (on the visit of the former cast) and plan to air it in England on Good Friday (April 13, 2001).

Jonathan - I want you to buy a copy of "Bug's Life" where I am big, and "Toy Story 2" where I am small.

(Jonathan tells the story of why he did not do the movie version of "Lost In Space". (Editor's Note - This story is on Suite 101 here ). I saw the picture with Bill Mumy. It was awful to observe us. "Bill - 'What did you think' Jonathan - 'It was loud. I have never heard such a loud movie'"

Bob May (Talking to the audience) - Thanks to all of you we celebrate 35 years on the air.

Bill - It is interesting we get together several times a year.

Jonathan - I have done several series, I never see any of those people. It is a rare thing that we (get together.)

Bob - Everyone was nice enough to appear in "Robot Memories" (Editor's note - Bob May's book).

Bill - There has been talk about Lost in Space 2 with a new cast. It's just talk.

June - (about her role on "Lassie" TV show) I always tried to read a line with strength because that man (the character of her husband) couldn't make a bean crop come in. You don't analyze, you just play it the way you feel.

Audience Question "I've waited 30 years to ask you this. On the show you are a fussy curmudgeon. Are you really a fussy curmudgeon?"

Jonathan - Yes.

Audience Question for June on working with Judy Garland in movie "Meet Me in St. Louis".
