that in Lost in Space, I play Smith, or I do not play. You have hired a wonderful actor to play Smith. I respect and admire his work. So please give him my very best regards. He's about to reap big value. I thought he showed remarkable good taste.' [Audience laugh] I thought I would get some of my own back you know what I mean? I had hoped against hope that they would hire me to do it. But of course I knew they wouldn't.
And I said 'I wish you well and I hope it will be a huge hit, because that would be very good for me. And if, God forbid, it's a terrible flop, well that would be very good for me.'[Audience laugh]
And I meant every word of that. Because it doesn't really matter, the classic series is mine. I own Zachery Smith, and I reap a tremendous harvest from it. And I adore those three words, they are magical words, and they have been very good to me. And I'm so grateful for [Lost in Space] I have done 612 television shows in Hollywood. That's a record, by the way. They were wonderful. I loved them all. But this is the that really came through. And it's been a godsend. You think it's bad to come here to Megacon and be worshiped and adored? [Audience Laugh]. It's wonderful. And I'm so grateful. And it will go on and on as long as I want to do it.
