I report the previews, I gotta follow up!
The film "Monkeybone" is the first spectacular flop of the year, bringing in only $2.6 million in it's opening weekend, and ranking 11th out of the films running for that weekend. The film was released by Twentieth Century Fox, and Fox reports being disappointed by earnings. This film comes on the heels of last summer's flop, the animated film "Titan AE". ==================== CrossGen comics put out a press release dates February 19, 2001 from Tampa, Florida. The press release announced that Lexy will distribute CrossGen comic books to the newsstand and bookstore market in Italy. The publication of these Italian issues will begin in March/April of 2001. The agreement includes all the current CrossGen titles, Mystic, Sigil, Scion, Meridian, and The First, as well as the April releasing Crux. In order to maximize the exposure of all the CrossGen titles, Lexy and CrossGen have agreed on a staggered publishing schedule for the titles. In other CrossGen press releases, the company announced that CrossGen Chronicles #2 drawn by Geroge Perez sold out in a matter of days. CrossGen has ordered additional copies printed that should be available to retailers this week. So if you missed this issue and are interested in it, ask your local comic retailers if the expect to get some more in. As the billing says, its a "Comic Book, Gaming, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Anime, and Multimedia convention. Continuous anime showings. Role Playing games - paper and pencil and live-action. Film and TV stars, including June Lockhart and Jonathan Harris form "Lost in Space". Tons of comic book artists including John Romita, John Romita, Jr, George Perez, Roy Thomas, Peter David, Joseph Michael Linsner, Jim Valintino, Mark Waid, and George Tuska. Last minute changes! Due to a prior commitment, Lloyd Kaufman will no longer be able to attend MegaCon 2001. Due to Hospitalization, David Prowse (Darth Vadar) will no longer be able to attend MegaCon 2001. Last minute additions - Vocal talent from "Dragonball Z" Sean Schemmel as Goku and Eric Johnson as Trunks. A last minute addition! Bob May, the 'Man in the Robot Suit' from "Lost in Space".
