Monkeybone, Lara Croft, Star Trek 5 and "Lost in Space" reunion!The release of the film "Monkeybone" based on the comic book "Dark Town" is less than a week away. I know nothing as to whether this film is good or not, but here's the plot synopsis: The story centers on a cartoonist (played by Brendan Fraser) who slips into a coma and finds himself trapped in a world of his own imagining. (Anyone got an airline ticket and an extra pass?). I will not bore you with the story details, but one ambitious fan (Tombie?) has pictures and the full story scoop. This movie begs the question - can a popular sexploation video game and comic book be turned into a sexplotation movie? Hmmm. On second thought, forget I asked. I found out that Brian Singer would like to return as diector, and Gary Jensen has been contacted about again being the stunt coordinator. On the heals of the successful film, comes Witchblade the TV show with Yancy Butler will reprising the lead role of Sara Pezzini. THe show starts filming in Toronto on February 19th. =================== In other Cinescape news, they report that a new Star Trek series is set for fall 2001. They only need a script. A title. A cast, A set. A few dozen other things. The good news is the business end is tied up.
