Mutant X and Animated JLA Return to TV; Monkeybone at Movies
==================== Look for "Mutant X", a synticated television show next fall. The title of the television show has nothing to do with the comic book "Mutant X". Instead, it explores the world of the "X-Men movie. It features five all-new characters (never seen or based on the comic book characters) in the world created by the "X-Men movie. Follow? In my opinion, Hollywood can't stand to have their movies and television show based on books without completely revising them. Can you say "Ego" boys and girls??? Read more on the upcoming television show co-executive produced by Avi Arad at "Comics to Film" here http://www.comics2film.com/MutantX.shtml ======================= (This picture is copyright 20th century Fox) In more recent movie releases, on February 23 Twentieth Century Fox is releasing a film based on an obscure comic book called "Monkeybone". No, wait. The obscure comic book is called "Dark Town". The main character, is,... well...a monkey. Not any monkey, an impish monkey from heck. Reminescent of the mythical gremlins that were blamed for airplane crashes in the 1940's. And we all know airplane crashes are funnnnnie!!! You get the picture. I am not familiiar with the comic book, but here's a picture from the movie starting Brendon Frazier (Dudley Do-Right) and a puppet. It may be good, as the director is Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach). Both of Selick's previous movies are excellent, so we will have to see if this movie is good. First preview loook like it will be rated PG-13 - at least. ================================= If you like the film, "The Matrix" check out the online (only?) comics based on the movie at the Warner Brothers web site at http://www.warnerbros.com/pages/main/ind... . Vertern writers and arttist like Neil Gaiman and Bill Sienkiewicz have contributed. ================================= Comics to Film at http://www.comics2film.com reports that AOL Time Warner has issued the following release regarding the previously rumored Justice League animated TV show: I could not find an orignal copy of thie press release on the web, but here's the re-procured press release from C2F January 24, 2001 Cartoon Network will enlist the world's greatest superheroes, bringing them together once more in an all-new half-hour animated series, Justice League, it was announced today by Betty Cohen, president, Cartoon Network Worldwide.
