other races see as oppression. There is the usual delegate bickering - only since this
is a comic the insults fly and threats run to disembowelment and gizzard digesting,
Ulandra, the head of the council is Charles Xavier's former lover. She knows the humans are noble and mean well, but can say nothing to swell the anti-human sentiment. Ulanadra suspects that the suppression of humans may be orchestrated by the Time-Keepers, three being who exist at end of time itself. The reason is unknown. Also as the delegates continue to talk, Professor X and his X-Skrulls are launching an attack on Ego in an attempt to reason with him. (Those wacky humans!) From the delegates we learn that Thor is at least partially responsible for Ego's insanity. Driven mad by a human champion! Professor X finds Ego cannot be reasoned with because he is insane. Borrowing psychic power from a multitude of beings in the galaxy loyal to him, Professor X launches a psychic assault on Ego that renders him unconscious. At the same time eliminating the threat to the galaxy and embarrassing every race in the galactic council - whose spaceships could not bring down Ego. One young skrull at sums up what Charles has done by suggesting the to the galactic council that they learn from him. Or, of course, they could listen to what appears to be a spy sent by powers unknown to undermine humanity. ("There is another way...") My thoughts on this story. Wow! Who but Kurt Busieck would take on a story of this magnitude and make it work.? Blending the characters of Professor X, Ulandra, The Gladaitor, The Silver Surfer, Ego, Skrull mutants, Badoon (from Guardians of the Galaxy), Kymellia (from Power Pack)and every important race in the galaxy. The more you look at this story the more you see how carefully crafted it is. The art is good. A little splashy and overcolored in places for my taste, but that is the way of things in the industry. Not to mention that no one, not even Professor X, looks like they are over 25 years old. Ego is the only one who looks like he's in his 30's but that's my pet peeve and does not really take away from the book. In summary - the price is high but you do get 40 pages instead of the normal 32 pages. If you are fans of Kurt's Avenger's Forever book, this one is for you. If you are a real Kurt fan this one
