Once again, I liked the production value, the introduction, the smooth way Peter David handles it all. The writing is professional. The artwork has a different style than "traditional" Marvel character art. The backgrounds are better in this issue. Good news/bad news: the story is less contrived. Good! On the other hand, it just gets goofy. I mean, why go through the negative zone? This is only semi-plausible. Why not just go through the surface of the ball? (The pocket universe is contained in Franklin Richard's blue child's ball for those of you who have not been living under a rock and not read my other reviews!) After all, both Spiderman and Hulk arrived that way. If you read the additional credits in the front on all the story contributors, it's easy to see why. This issue becomes "goofy" rather than the climax it was meant to be. The art is a little better in this issue, but still, in my opinion, suffers from over-simplicity. In conclusion, the production value is excellent (and you pay for it!). The story gets you from point A to the conclusion in an enjoyable and satisfactory manor. Peter David's irony comes up big as a story element. The art is more detailed and more enjoyable in this issue. I give it a final rating of *** out of ***** , or Good. Comments???!!! Robert
