Rumors Summer 2000 Returns

It is rumored that Tobey Maguire has signed to play "Spider-Man" in Marvel's next potentially lockbuster movie. Official word may come as soon as Monday, Jul 31.

Earth X has appeard as a trailer on Alex Ross' web site at http://www.alexrossart.com/ . The series is due to be re-released in print in hardcover soon. The book re-print will premiere at the Chicago comic convention Aug 4-6.

The next comic book to be made into a TV series? Maybe it's "Gatecrasher" from Black Bull Entertainment. This is accoring to a recent article in "Wizard".

I have learned that a new group called "Crusaders" will create a live action comic book (I am not making this up) - THe first appearance - The Chicago Comic Con - naturally. Check out more at http://www.crusadersltd.com/news.asp

X-Men movie's box office tally is roughly $121 million in three weeks.

According to the Sci Fi Wire at http://www.crusadersltd.com/news.asp, Yancy Butler, who plays the lead in the upcoming Witchblade movie is happy that the movie is not cheesy - (editor's note - like the comic?). No dog collars and metal. (sorry guys). THat the character is someone you care about (editor's note - unlike the comic?)

Sorry , I couldn't resist the plugs at Witchblade. See my reviews of the comic here at Suite 101 to see what I think. Basicly may thought is - very cool are - no story with characters I could care less about. That about sums it up. I will keep an open mind on the Witchblade movie.

Marvel not only has struck gold at the movies - but now plans to make Thor a live-action TV show. Currently in development.

Godzilla makes his comeback Aug 14 at the movies. Can the comic book revival be far behind?
