"This is the Biggest Launch of a Comic Book Ever"

Kid-Friendly Comic Book Entertains Auto Racing Fans Young and Old

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 2000-- RaceWarrior®, America's Racing Comic Book, makes its debut this week in more than 2,500 retailers across the United States. The weekly action/adventure comic book about auto racing in the year 2020 appeals to race fans and comic book readers of all ages. A new collectible issue hits the shelves every week of the 38-week NASCAR racing season.

In a day and age when many children's reading materials are questionable, the creators of RaceWarrior® looked to comic books of the past in order to create a futuristic story line free of sex, drugs and graphic violence. RaceWarrior® comic books help combat illiteracy by using the ever-popular sport of auto racing to create a form of entertainment that kids enjoy.

``RaceWarrior® is a family comic book,' said John A. Powell III, creator and CEO. ``These books draw from the golden era of comic books, when parents didn't have to worry about what their kids were reading.'

RaceWarrior® comes to parents' rescue as an affordable and imaginative means of entertainment for youngsters. The comic book is easily accessible to all parents because of a unique sponsorship arrangement with 7 UP. RaceWarrior® will be distributed through grocery stores, CVS drug stores, and select Wal-Mart Super Centers, Target and Kmart stores, unlike most comic books which are sold primarily through comic book dealers.

``By the end of March, there will be 4,250,000 copies of RaceWarrior® on the stands,' Powell said. ``This is the biggest launch of a comic book ever.'

RaceWarrior® sells for 99 cents with the purchase of 7 UP products or $2.99 when purchased separately. Back issues will be available through the RaceWarrior® web site at http://www.racewarrior.com .

To support the nationwide launch of the comic book, Powell held a press conference Feb. 26 at North Carolina Speedway. Jay Thomas, a RaceWarrior® investor -- most recently known for co-hosting ``Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire'-- served as the emcee, along with RaceWarrior® spokesperson and NASCAR Winston Cup driver Mark Martin and his son, Matt. The kickoff also is supported by radio remotes at RaceWarrior® retailers across the nation.

RaceWarrior® comic books can be purchased in these locations across the nation.
