Stan Lee returns - this time on the internet at both
Stan Lee.com and at
Stan Lee.net. The dot-com
site has all the financial an prospectous information. The dot-net site appears to be schelduled to open on Feb 29 with onliine comics. Will it succeed? Hey, it's Stan the Man. The one-man promotional machine. Can he fail? Will the public accept web-based comic book stories and art? Stay tuned. Some brief character previews are at the dot-net site.
================ Stan-dot-net appears to be associated with the Acme City fan site at Acmecity.com and wiith the retailer NextPlanetOver.com Next Planet Over is currently holding an auction for Marvel Comics #1 from 1938. Definitely worth a look. In more links, the Stan-dot-net site links to Acmecity wich leads to a very nice cover gallery by Silver Age Artist Steve Ditko at Ditko by Title. There is another gallery for Silver Age artist Jim Steranko at Steranko Silver Age. Other notable links, there is a brief history of comic books at History of Comics. This is not the "definitive" history of comics, it's only one personn's opinion. But it has some excellent cover scans. Pleae take note that the "Violent Age" and the "Pre-Violent Age" do not exist. ======================== That's all I have time for this week.
