This article appears on Acclaim's new web site at http://www.acclaim.com, for all of you following the corporate web site series, bookmark this one! A brief summary of all the out of print Acclaim and Valiant characters appear here. Better than most sites, not as good as the top sites. - above average. A little confusing to get around - too many choices. Too many goofy links that are off subject, or lead to other sites. Example - Turok is still on a different site.
Back to the Jim Shooter announcement......... ===================================================== UNITY 2000 In November A No-Holds-Barred Universe-Shaking Mega-Story That Will "Change Everything." Acclaim Comics proudly announces that Jim Shooter is returning to write the Valiant Heroes he helped create in UNITY 2000, a six-issue series debuting this November. "I'm thrilled to have a chance to write the Valiant characters again, and to have a crack at the many interesting ideas and characters that were developed after I left Valiant Comics." Jim Shooter, an accomplished and best-selling writer, has gained a reputation for breathing new life into the comic book industry. As former Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics, and founder of Valiant Comics (now Acclaim Comics), Defiant and Broadway Comics, Jim is no stranger to writing sweeping cosmic epics. UNITY 2000 brings into conflict the characters of the more recent Acclaim Universe and the original Valiant Universe, while simultaneously generating new ideas and characters that will carry Acclaim Comics into the future. Joining Shooter as artist on this project is fan favorite Jim Starlin, who is penciling all six issues and their respective covers. Joe Rubinstein is inking the project, while longtime Shooter collaborator Janet Jackson is coloring the covers. "We're very excited about Jim's involvement in this project," said editor Michael Marts. "It's a story we've been wanting to do for a long time, and we always thought that Jim would be the perfect man for the job ... and the story he's created has far exceeded our expectations." Acclaim Comics has long hinted that 1999 would be a very important year story-wise, including the much-anticipated death of Shadow Man, which starts as a prelude story to UNITY 2000 in SHADOW MAN #3 and #4 (shipping in September and October) "Fans are sure to love the return to the original Valiant Universe," said Acclaim publisher Walter Black. "But believe me, that's only the beginning." Acclaim Comics will be appearing at both the Wizard World Chicago convention and the San Diego Comicon, and will be making announcements on other new projects in the near future. Go To Page: 1 2
