Marvel Gatefold Cover: Reader freindly or marketing gimmick????Complimenting the gatefolds is a dramatic new cover dress for the comics, featuring: · Colorful depictions of main characters in the left corner box, along with publication month and series issue number. · The Marvel Comics logo boldly etched onto the top left corner for increased shelf recognition. · The new Marvel tag line "The World's Greatest Comics!" centered across the top of each cover. This new concept in comic publication is intended to fully assert Marvel's continued leadership in the industry. ======================================== Dispite Marvel's business difficulties, I applaud the editors and business folks for trying to bring on fans with each issue. (Hey, how many seventy part clone stories can you have?) I think Marvel realizes that if the want to do epic stories and story continuations, the need to provide an on-ramp with every comic book issue. Picking up a comic at random is like coming into the middle of a two-hour movie, staying ten minutes, then leaving. You have two choices - go back to the 1960's style comic where there was a beginning and an end to every issue, or assist the reader. Just my opinion - Robert
