Comic Book Web Sites II

....more comic book web sites continued from September 3. These are Corporate (non-retail) web sites only! There are tons of fan and character sites...too many to mention.... These are companies who make, publish or distribute comics.

The Comic Book Clearing House - Small press clearing house. Tons of comics you've never heard of, and some information on self-publishing. Excellent depth of including lots of small press books. I think the web site is a little confusing to get around, but if you like small press, this one is definitely worth it.

Continuity Studios - Neal Adam's company site. (I suggest you choose "no frames") These are slowest loading corporate comic web pages! Bucky O'Hare, Animagic, Megalith Man, and many more still live on (even if you wish they didn't!). I admire Neal Adam's art and his style from the late 1980's, but you won't find much new here. New Neal Adams sketchbooks and back issues for sale.

Crusade - Home of Bill Tucci and Shi comics. Bill successfully started his own comic book company when others were going out of business, Bill is still rolling along, creating "Battlebooks", drawing some, and producing a "Shi" live action movie. (Read about this in previous article here). Nice online bios. Good website, a little thin on recent news and information.

DC Comics - Excellent web site. One of the top two in comic sales. Always has the comics that will be out next week, and in near future. All your DC favoties like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and more. This site also has Wildstorm Publishing information and Mad magazine. Plus guideline on submitting material to DC comics! Bookmark this site now!

Dark Horse Comics - The number four comic book publisher! Comics home of Star Wars, Aliens, Predator, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Xena... shall I continue? Obviously recommended for mature readers. Excellent, long running web site. Easy to get around, good previews, interviews, schedules. Only negatives are annoying splash page and some have had some technical problems, and some old news updates in the past. All the information you could ever want. They've been on the web over five years! All in all,a very good site.

Diamond Distributors - The biggest comic book distributor - also toys and trading cards. Often lamented for their pricing practices with retailers. Huge web site, but can sometimes be confusing to navigate. Tons of good inforation if you dig for it, and don't pay too much attention to the hype. Lots of stuff here - all new and updated weekly! A nice web site.
