I do not remember where I read it, but I believe the Blair Witch Project has signed with Oni Studios for a comic book.
===================== NextPlanet targets 'Blair Witch' fans Margaret Kane, ZDNet NextPlanetOver will debut an e-commerce site next month focusing on the "entertainment hobbyist" -- comic book collectors, sci-fi fans, action figure collectors, gamers and manga devotees. To coincide with the launch, the company will run an online comic tied to "The Blair Witch Project," and exclusive interviews with the film's creators. The company has also signed a deal with Marvel Entertainment Group Inc. (NYSE: MRV - news) to produce interactive comics that will run online once a month, featuring characters from Marvel's characters and story-lines. The company has also signed deals with Stan Lee Media Inc. and Oni Press. NextPlanetOver is targeting the classic Internet group -- men between the ages of 18 to 49, said CEO David Scott. Wide open field: While the market NextPlanetOver is targeting may seem obvious, the company does have a fairly wide open field, said Seema Williams, an analyst with Forrester Research in Cambridge, Mass. Scott said the company will work with fan sites to try and drive traffic to the site, and will offer its own forums for consumers to discuss their hobbies. "What's exciting is that people will have a national forum to discuss their hobbies," he said. "The Net allows you to tap into the national interest group." 'Viral marketing' And the company plans to go where its market is. The new site will formally debut at the San Diego Comic-con August 12, and plans to hit other fan conventions throughout the year. The company will hand out 50,000 coupons offering discounts on first-time purchases, which it says can be "passed along" to friends and re-used. "We're really trying to exercise viral marketing here," Scott said. ==================== 'Blair Witch 2' Story Concepts reported by Cinescape Online.
