On May 23, comic book history will be made when Superman teams up with nine "super" athletes for a one-of-a-kind, limited edition, custom comic...a collectible story of Kryptonian proportions.

What's the Story?

Jeff Gordon (3-time Winston Cup champion), Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (1998 Busch Series champion), John Force (8-time Funny Car champion), Jimmy Vasser (PPG Cup/FedEx Championship Series champion), Matt Hines (2-time Winston Drag Racing Pro Stock Bike champion), Ron Hornaday (2-time Craftsman Truck series champion), Steve Kinser (15-time Sprint Car champion), Warren Johnson (4-time Pro Stock champion), and Joe Amato (5-time Winston Top Fuel champion) transcend their racing series to compete in a race to save the world from a subterranean menace. The story begins at a charity race when Jeff Gordon receives a visit from the super race fan, Superman. The Man of Steel joins our drivers in the ultimate action adventure. Who will win the great race among the members of the "Superman Racing" team? And, why have the world's greatest racing champions decided to paint their cars in tribute to the world's greatest super hero? SUPERMAN MEETS THE MOTORSPORTS CHAMPIONS reveals the story behind "Superman Racing" with special cameo appearances including motorsports celebrities Dale Earnhardt (NASCAR), Mike Helton and George Pyne (NASCAR) and Andrew Craig (CART). Written by best-selling comic book writer Chuck Dixon, with pencils by Paul Ryan, inks by Tom Palmer, and cover by Dick Giordano.
