"Marvel Million" Bonus to Retailers Program

N.A, New York -- APRIL 6-- Marvel Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: MVL) is rewarding valued retailers with a bonus program that will give them a free over-shipment of 10% more copies than the order placed. The company also simultaneously announced that reorder fees will be waived.

The over-shipment will be implemented twice in 1999, post-receipt of retail orders, with the target months selected by the publisher.

Winston Fowlkes, Publisher, Marvel Enterprises, Inc., says that the total shipment, in excess of 500,000 copies, will focus on the top ten best-selling fan favorite titles, which have the best merchandising potential for the retailers. "Marvel wanted to find a way to show our appreciation for our loyal and valued retailers, and we have devised a program which enables them to increase their profit with no additional outlay on their part."

The second wave of retailer appreciation kicks in on April 12, when Marvel officially waives reorder fees. Matt Ragone, Vice President of Retail Sales, Marvel Entertainment, comments, "Our goal is to make it easier for our retail customer base to place reorders and waiving our fee is a mutually beneficial step in that direction."
