Orlando MegaCon Comic Book Convention: Notes from convention hel

George...You need good actors in your story. You need good characters.

Audience question to George Perez about working with Marv Wolfman for many years on Teen Titans.

George... I had a wonderful relationship with Marv. We didn't have a written plot, we talked it out, and we wrote it. [Since then] on contracts I wanted to stay [on a title for the duration of the contract to demonstarate to myself, and everyone else, my professionalism].

Audience... What are some of difference in doing comics today and years ago?

John......We cannot get good paper. We cannot get good pencils, we cannot get good inks, and the paper is terrible. Audience.....What does John Romita plan to do in the future?

Audience question about how comic book companies originally got started

Jules.....Originally, there were two seperate companies [in New York] All American was uptown, and National Periodical was downtown. [After they merged] There were two divisions in 1939 [after All American and National Periodical merged] and by 1944, when the war ended, the two divisions remained [seperate] for a long time.

John... I think that except for the big two [Marvel and DC] the rest of the industry has gone to adult comics. Unless we are going to do extreme focused group on 18-25, etcetera, we are talking about a lot of titles that refer to a small, focused group. And I don't think you can make it on that, although I'm not an accountant. [We need to] get
