Here's what I think:
The plot in brief: Pumped with innuendo from a mysterious woman, Christofano apparently puts out an "open" contract on Jackie. While defending himself, Jackie trashes his house, buys a used car, and picks up his cousin Nicoletta from the airport
This is a straightforward "mob" story. I liked the single, coherent story from beginning to end. There was a short, three-page flashback growing up in a mob family and why killing is necessary. I thought this flashback was a little gratuitous, but actually did tie in to the story of picking up his cousin at the airport. Jackie remembers his cousin Nicoletta in his youth.
I liked the "gallows humor" by Jackie due to his circumstances. With everyone out to kill Jackie, this issue is an especially bloody one. The excess blood is unnecessary, in my opinion, but I know that's the Top Cow way.
The negatives - still not much of a story here. Short character developments of would-be assassins right before Jackie offs them. It is good that Coney made the hoods more than two-dimensional, but because these folks are around for only a few panels, I still can't take the characters seriously.
The art is exceptional The close-ups and figures are excellent. Not quite the quality of the backgrounds we expect from Top Cow, but not everyone is Michael Turner. And we all have deadlines - so it's forgivable.
In summary, the story was simple and enjoyable. I was a little annoyed by the gratuitous amount of blood. The ending delivered just the right amount of surprise. And the ending was surprising in more ways than one.
I rate this book a 3 out of 5 or Good.

The plot in brief: Sara remembers flashbacks of her youth while trying to retrieve the Witchblade from Ian.
The story starts out with a flashback of Sara trying to come to grips with the Witchblade as a youth. Back in the present, Ian Nottingham now has the Withcblade and it has completely taken him over. He terrorizes Jack and Caroline while waiting for Sara to arrive. Sara arrives unable to save Jake and Caroline and shoots a gem from the Ian/Withcblade.
