Fantastic Four movie:
I have heard that this movie is okay to good, but I have not heard of anyone who thought it was great. I saw some reviews on the web with the geeks complaining about what they didn't like - they wanted the fantastic-car, negative zone, Silver Surfer, Galactus, and big adventures. They complained that the FF are earthbound. In my opinion - these folks are missing what the Fantastic four is about. It's about a family and friends that are as close as family. I do not know how well the movie conveys this, but I hope it does. This is the central theme to the characters. Also in my opinion - Any movie with four producers and four writers cannot be great. If you have not seen the movie you can check out the trailer here http://www.fantasticfourmovie.com/html_i... Word on the net has it that the cast is signed for two addition movies. ================================= I have not seen Batman begins either, though I heard it was pretty good. You can check out the Batman trailer here http://www2.warnerbros.com/batmanbegins/... ============================= Continuing on the subject of movies............. Big budget upcoming comic movies include Superman Returns to be directed by Brian Singer. Excellent write up of Brian's talk at San Diego Comic Con on the web here http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=8055 Apparently fans are upset by Singer's costume design. They don't like the shade of red or the shape of the "S" on the costume chest. Okay - if you have been reading my article here for a while you know I have an opinion on this. My opinion is -fans need to quit imagining what "they" would do and look at reality. The FF don't have a flying car - well big whoop-de-do. Comics don't always translate to the movies. You can draw anything you can imagine. You can have an animated or CGI movie where you can do most anything you want, but actors are people in costumes - so there are inherent limitations. What do you want - a CGI that shows larger than life hero with zero acting on the background of real people and places? Oh, I forgot. Hollywood already did that. It was called "The Hulk". How did that turn out? Pretty mediocre as I recall. Why? It lacked acting! Just my opinion. Go To Page: 1 2 |
