Question - Mark Waid's Spider-Man It's going to be really good. Spider-man books get back to continuity. Mark Waid will focus on specific aspects of Spider-Man's life. Question- Trade paperbacks. Joe - [Don't see comics going to full trade paperback business] ; only regular monthly issues. I make money on both [why give up one or the other?] Six issues sell 50,000 copies, trade over two or three years do well. Both have different life spans. Question - How do you go about evaluating writing submissions? Joe - Hollywood? Literally look everywhere. Craig Pak young Indy film writer. Last year we tested 27 new writers. One thing I know - writers are where it's at. I could lose all my best artists tomorrow [but not my writers.] . Question - Best way to submit [writing]. Submit full story? {Stan Lee did story then dialogue later] Joe - That method is gone - that system is gone. I think full script is best way to work now. We want short synopsis of story and sample dialogue. New writers give us a story of existing character. Question - Military of Science Fiction stories. Joe - We might have some World War 2 Stories coming out. For the most part, the comic buying public wants their superheroes. Question - Astonishing X-Men Joe - There is going to be a break and plan is they are going to come back after a 4 to 5 month break. Just to plan a little better. Question on Magneto - Joe -Stay tuned for house of M Questions - Plans for Moon Knight. Joe - Maybe. Question - Horror Books? Joe - When we look at the success of the horror books (it doesn't sell.) Question - Regular Universe and Ultimate Universe. Joe - Have the regular universe cross into the Ultimate universe? No plans at this time. Question - getting Frank Miller Joe - Franks a little busy. He has a movie coming out right now. Question - Paul Jenkins Joe - Doing great [work} new [project coming out soon. Joe - I listened to fans email about I don't do this and don't do that - I would never do anything. The first thing to remember about characters is that they are not real.
