Kurt Hathaway - One man's story....

I am often ask "How can I break into comics?" "How can I get a job in the comics Indusrty?" Kurt has graciously taken his time to tell his story - For NO MONEY (hey - this is Suite 101, after all! - Don't tell Jason I wrote this!) but he would like me to get in at least 47 plugs for his upcoming new comic book! Ah, the joys of a low budget project (Man am I glad I have a REAL job - don't tell Jason that one either - okay?)

[Robert] Tell us a little about yourself, Kurt

[Kurt] My bio read like this:

Over the past 15 years, he's lettered, edited, or written hundreds of comics and graphic novels for DC, Marvel, Image and too many others to list here! Past writing credits include the critically acclaimed Supreme and the Speilberg-optioned Doom's IV series! In addition to HSA [High Stakes Adventure], he's currently writing a computer game for Electronic Arts, and letters a number of DC titles.

[Robert] Tell us about your co-creator on High Stakes Adventure

[Kurt] My co-creator's bio:

Shannon Denton Has drawn Supreme for Image Comics, Deadpool for Marvel Comics and is currently a character designer in animation on such TV shows as Diabolik, Silver Surfer and Captain America!

[Robert] Very impressive. What about this new company you've created

[Kurt] Let me get you a few notes I've prepared.

Meteor City is a creative collaborative founded by artist Shannon Denton and joined by writer Kurt Hathaway to bring a variety of creative adventures to a variety of media. Together, Shannon and Kurt have worked up pitches for several creative projects including comic books, animated shows, computer games, live action TV, and toys. Each Adventure property has been created with merchandising possibilities in mind to attract the attention of toy companies as well as other licensing outlets. For the benefit of Animation producers, Shannon and Kurt have produced a short video highlighted by some 3-D CGI animation of their creations, animated by some of Hollywood's top CGI animators. They currently have a publishing deal with Antarctic Press to write and draw HIGH STAKES ADVENTURE, premiering in December. HSA features four Meteor City properties including: GIANT FIGHTERS; S.E.A. FORCE; THE BIG GAME featuring THE SHOTGUN KID; and DANGER SQUAD. With cover inks by Danny (Spawn) Miki. There's a two-page full color ad in the October issue of the Previews catalog.
