What was the number one comic book for February sales? If you said Avengers/JLA #4 you would be second best. The best seller was "Superman/Batman #8.

With these team ups doing well, are more team ups on the horizon? Maybe not, as these are the biggest of the big name comic books, but you never can tell.

What are the big events for April in comic books? It has to be the films.

"Hellboy" released April 2nd pulled in $23.5 million at the box office. This is excellent number for a movie that opens in April. According to Comics2Film http://www.comics2film.com/ProjectFrame.... Ron Perlman is already talking Hellboy 2.

The Punisher movie made a respectable showing in second place at about $15 million last week.

Here are a few tidbits from MegaCon I have not gotten to yet.

CrossGen announced that they would start a new title called "Raven House" It will be a gothic thriller written by Chuck Dixon and illustrated by Leonardo Manco.

Here's an excerpt for the official press release:

"Featuring a gutsy young heroine, a tragic romance, and dark deeds done at the crossroads, 'Raven House' is a creepy gothic thriller in the grand tradition of Brontès and Henry James, " Dixon stated. "Summoned to England's wild Cornish coastline, beautiful Meredith Park arrives at the bleak and remote Raven House to serve as governess for the son of the brooding and handsome Lord Dalamar. But the manor and all around it seem to lie under a curse...and Meredith is compelled to uncover the many long-buried secrets she finds there. Perfectly cast for this type of story, Leonardo Manco is eating the setting up. Every panel drips with uneasiness and dread".

"Chuck's exceptional vision for 'Raven House' includes an atmosphere and storytelling comparable to the best of Edgar Allen Poe tales, such as 'The Fall of the House of Usher'," Manco said. "Because the fantastic story goes beyond conventional comic limits, I'm striving to deliver a completely different and fascinating vision."

"Midnight carriage chases, forbidden passion, creepy surprises..."Raven House' oozes with the haunting mood that runs through the gothic literature from "Withering Heights' to the novels of Victoria Holt. Chuck and Leonardo are creating a gorgeous yet horrifying world that will wrap you in a chilling embrace." CrossGen's Sr V.P. of Publishing Bill Rosemann added.

"We're doing what we do best: exploring genres not often seen in modern comic books," Dixon said. "There's a great big world of fiction out there and we want to reach audiences that may have been left behind but still crave these different types of stories."
