* Joe Kelly will be working exclusively for DC for the next year and will be writing a new title "Justice League Elite", a spin off from his Justice League title. Word is that other writers will be taking over Justice League. * An eight-page preview of "Teen Titans Go" will be inserted in the January issue of Sport Illustrated Kids magazine. * In Green Arrow #33 comic someone put the "Arrowcar" on an online auction. (Okay - I'll bet it's eBay but DC can't say this without permission!) If you don't know what the Arrowcar is, you need to pick up some Green Arrow reprint stories form the 1950's - many drawn by the legendary Jack Kirby. The Arrowcar and the Arrow cave were featured in recent back issues of Green Arrow comics in Oliver's journey into his past. ======================================= Giving equal time to the competition, here's some Marvel news briefs: * Check out the cover of Spider-Man Unlimited #1 coming out in January. Sinkiro, a Japanese artist, is doing the cover of the first issue. Shinkiro is best known for creating characters for Capcon's video games. * Marvel's new promotion on their website is to push their new series "Ultimate Fantastic Four". In order to entice you to read UFF, if you subscribe online you get 12 issues of "Ultimate Spider-Man" free!!! Is this meant to compete with CrossGen's Comics on the web http://www.comicsontheweb.com ? * As reported last time, Brandon Peterson formerly the art director of CrossGen comics will work for Marvel for the next three years. Brandon's first task is to put together some covers for Ultimate X-Men. The summary is that studios have left the Image umbrella. Dreamwave, Red Star, Devil's Due, Roaring Studios, and most recently Udon have left Image in contract and branding disputes. Jim Valentino states that each [studio was] intent on having a go of it on their own. This is a fascinating article on the business side of comic and I urge you to check it out.
