In sad news, Miami stud running back Willis McGahee will have knee surgery on Sunday, after suffering a Will Allen helmet on his knee in the Fiesta Bowl. Allen, a special teams stud last year and likely a starter at cornerback next season for the Buckeyes, became infamous for his late-game interception that held the Michigan Wolverines from scoring, helping Ohio State to a 13-9 victory. He is also a friend of mine, as we played on the same high school team (along with Minnesota's Justin Isom and West Virginia's Jeff Berk). It was not a cheap shot against Willis McGahee, but it was certainly very unfortunate.
Also, in my bitterest mode possible, let me congratulate the winners of three straight National Champs, if not for the interference of the BCS and the Line Judge: the Miami Hurricanes. My bowl predictions faltered late in the bowl season, though I still eked it out above .500. Tostitas Fiesta Bowl - Ohio State 31, Miami 24 (0-1)
