A Loud Off-Seasonto lure two more football playing schools. Fresno State is the key target, but the other target has not been definitively identified. Perhaps Houston or TCU might make a good addition. Obviously, the WAC would then need to replace Fresno State, perhaps with whichever team was left from Houston and TCU. The other football playing Conference USA schools would need to join football conferences, and would probably scatter among southern conferences such as the Sun Belt. All of this speculation has not really even scratched the surface of what could occur. No changes are likely before 2005, but Miami will need to announce its decision before the end of June if it wishes to be released from its Big East conference contract for 2005. So, what would the world of college basketball look like? It is, of course, difficult to tell, but it is fun to speculate. The new basketball conferences might very well look like this: ACC Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Syracuse, Virginia, Wake Forest BIG EAST (or new name) Cincinnati, Connecticut, Louisville, Marshall, Memphis, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Florida, Virginia Tech, West Virginia NEW CONFERENCE Dayton, DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette, Notre Dame, Providence, Seton Hall, St, John's, Villanova, Xavier ATLANTIC TEN Charlotte, Duquesne, Fordham, George Washington, La Salle, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, Saint Joseph's, Sienna, Temple NEEDING A HOME? Alabama-Birmingham, East Carolina, Houston, St. Louis, Southern Miss, TCU, Tulane
