This last week, Seattle was shook to it's core! Wonder how my next Starbuck's Frappuccino will taste - shaken, not stirred!

According to a Reuters Press Release, "Washington state Gov. Gary Locke, who estimated damage would top $1 billion, expressed relief that the damage was relatively minor for such a violent quake -- a fact attributed to its occurring at a depth of 30 miles."

Look at this website for further chuckles on the subject - thank heavens no one parished in the quake!

On a more serious note, if you'd like to donate to the recovery of the region, contact Voluntary Agencies Active in Disaster (VOAD) or the American Red Cross.

actually suffered severe damage - folks were glad to get out alive. Many of them have lost jobs - it will be a while before things are restored. ...
