RainForest Rescue

The Arbor Day Foundation is helping to sustain shade-grown coffee and because of this, they have a deal for you!

"Try our delicious Rain Forest Rescue coffee and receive a Rain Forest Rescue coffee mug FREE. We'll send you an introductory 10-ounce bag of the best coffee you ever tasted for only $5."

Rainforest Rescue Coffee – "a product of the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, this product combines the finest arabica coffees (bourbon and tipica) grown in the high reaches of this lush forest. The result is unforgettable. A smooth, full-flavored coffee delicate on the palate, yet bold with a satisfying nut-like finish."

You see, sun-grown coffee, the most commonly available coffee today, requires CLEARING the rainforest. All the natural shade used by the songbirds and other creatures is removed to establish the coffee fields. Technologically advanced farming also uses chemical fertilizers and pesticides to enhance production. Migratory songbirds die by the thousands as a result of this chemical use. All this effort in clearing trees must produce a superior product then, correct? Not so, says the Arbor Day Foundation. Sun-grown coffee "can't match the rich, full-bodied flavor of the shade-grown variety." Then what is the reason for destroying trees to produce coffee? Sun-grown robusta beans are cheaper to produce and ship.

As a contrast, shade-grown, organic coffee uses the forest's shade to produce coffee from the shade-loving arabica coffee shrub.

So will you take the Arbor Day Foundation up on their offer? After your intro bag of Rainforest Rescue Coffee, they’ll continue to supply your java needs each month for $8.95 a bag plus shipping until you ask to cancel. Sounds downright chirpy to me. Now, excuse me, but its time to sip some excellent coffee while I watch the birds out my window!
