Stock Up And Give Back

Oct 20, 2000 - © Katherine Austinson

Now this is the way to go?! I've found a place to stock up on a few pounds of coffee AND give to my favorite cause at the same time!

GourmetGiving™ is where it's done and this is how it works - Choose one of the organizations listed that has a contractual relationship with GourmetGiving™. They automatically send the proceeds from your shopping to the nonprofit of your choice.

Special Olympics, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Earth Share, GoodWill, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation are just a few of the nonprofits involved. Up to 15% of every purchase will automatically go the organization you've selected. You can also shop to give to an organization that's not listed here by emailing your electronic sales receipt and the name of your registered 501(c)(3) organization to GourmetGiving™.

Now as for the coffee they promote – it's Tully's! Their company motto: At Tully's, coffee is our passion, but communities are our commitment. Tully's is the 3rd largest company-owned specialty coffee retailer, wholesaler, and distributor in the U.S. Here's the description for a few of their blends and roasts.

Tully's House Blend "combines 3 of their favorite coffees from Central and South America to yield their signature blend. Tully's House Blend is a smooth and well-balanced brew with medium body and bright acidity."

Tully's Espresso has a "woody, thick, rich taste of aged Indonesian combined with spicy Central American coffees make Tully's signature Espresso the industry standard…While the aged Indonesian coffee they use is expensive and rare, the thickness, body and crema it produces are worth every penny."

Original Spinelli is the "original Spinelli blend, combining coffees from Indonesia and Central America. Two coffees from Indonesia are almost thick with body, very full on the palate. When blended with the coffee from Central America, the syrupy body remains in tact, enhanced by the brightness and acidity."

Madison Blend is "Tully's roast estate quality coffee from South America, giving the blend wonderful complexity and acidity. To this, Tully's adds just the right amount of French Roast for body and depth. The end result is beautifully balanced and flavorful." So, after those wonderful descriptions do I have your attention? Let us know, did you give back and stock up at GourmetGiving™?
