The New American Plate for the American Institute for Cancer Research and Scientists in the United Kingdom suggests a way of judging your food by looking at your plate. They feel that the pyramid can be complicated. This promotes a way of judging what you are eating easily. Especially if you are away from home, out at a restaurant or someone else’s house. Kids need more support than adults, as always and I think that we forget this too often. As with anything relating to kids listening is much more important than talking. I know that when they want to talk is often when adults want quiet, but please try listening. Great times for talking are in the car driving while they are behind you. Sometimes it is easier for them then when you are face to face. Another great time is late at night when they are going to bed. Try lying down with them and just talking quietly, kind of like when they were toddlers and you would read to them as they were winding down. This will be a slow process, be patient. With yourself, with your kids and with the process. Go To Page: 1 2
