![]() Recently, I was asked to join in an up coming event at Suite101, the Holistic Therapy Event. The Holistic Therapy Event is scheduled to start in July and run through August. To find out more about Holistic Therapy, check out the following article. http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/5627... This motivated me to think, a dangerous thing to have happen. I realized that while nutrition and eating are my passion, they are part of a whole package. No matter how well you eat, you will not be healthy if you do not take care of all aspects of your life. So, this article will be about your whole life. To be whole in life, you need to eat, exercise, rest and reflect. How is as individualized as you are. I believe that what happens is we tend to take things apart and work on one area. For example, you exercise until exhaustion but fail to fuel your body or rest. Or, you rest your body but never get off the couch. Let's get started by reviewing some of the web sites that look at the whole picture. After that, I will move on to some web sites that deal with eating and then move into reflecting (this is the one I algo find the hardest to get). Last, but not least, a word of warning. A great site is Health World Online. http://www.healthy.net James Strohecker, the president, dreams of a online database of leading research from around the world to create a "global" medicine that blends ancient healing traditions, spirituality, and natural medicine with the best that scientific Western medicine has to offer. James "believes that the principles of natural health are often a matter of common sense and have been with humanity for millennia. The ancient tradition of yoga - with its emphasis on diet, lifestyle, exercise, stress reduction, personal detoxification and mental cultivation - is really a complete system of holistic health". This site offers a health clinic, nutrition center, fitness center, wellness center and much more in an easy to use format. I could go on for the whole article about this site but I won't. Just visit it and see for yourself. Another must see site is http://www.oprah.com This site offers a holistic view of life. You can find information on living smart, food, health and remembering your spirit. You can also find out what is on Oprah this week or keep your journal. Dr. Phil McGraw, who is a frequent visitor on Oprah, has a spot on this web site. His life law #7 is "life is managed; it is not cured". This site can absolutely help you manage your life; just visiting it is inspiring. Oprah believes, do just one thing differently and you will change your life. Visit this site today and change your life.
